Patty Everitt - UKCP Registered Neurolinguistic Psychotherapist and a clinical hypnotherapist

About Me

My journey in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) started over 10 years ago and culminated in achieving a Diploma in Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy in 2014. In 2017 I was accredited by the Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (NLPtCA) and became a UKCP Accredited Neurolinguistic Psychotherapist in the same year. Most recently I have completed my Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I have run a successful private practice in Cheshire – at the Brightstone Clinic and Hope Street Centre in Sandbach, and Sutton House in Warrington.

Recently my family and I moved to Northumberland in the North-East of England and my practice has moved to Ponteland.

In addition to running my private practice I volunteered with Anglican Diocese of Liverpool as a Bishop’s Reviewer and with Chester Anglican Diocese as a Counsellor.

I am a former physicist and IT project manager. In my 30 year career in industry I have fulfilled technical and leadership roles, and coached, within national and international organisations.

I have a BSc. in Physics and Maths and a PhD in Physics both from London University.

Psychotherapy is a constantly changing discipline. Like all accredited therapists I attend regular supervision with my Clinical Supervisors who themselves are experienced therapists I also pay attention to extending and expanding my own knowledge of developments in the field of psychotherapy and indeed in related fields such as neuroscience through activities that include reading and peer support as well as attending training and seminars.

I am a Board Member of the NLPtCA with a particular interest in Accreditation.

I speak at CPD events and conferences for other professional bodies and publish blogs on the LifeLabs site of Psychologies Magazine. You can access LifeLabs here

Who I Am

I bring the experience of a 30 year career in industry working in technical and leadership roles and across a different national and international science-based organisations into my role as a psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist, coach and presenter.

My role is to help you find your Centre of Emotional and Psychological Balance, the safe place in yourself.

From our Centre we then have choice.

Choice about the relationships in our life and choice about the quality of those relationships.

We can choose how we want to feel about events or situations or people. Yes! We do have choice about how we feel.

When we are centred then our physiology is better able to repair and heal and grow so we are healthier.

When we are at our Centre of Balance then we can be in the world in a way that expresses the richness of who we are and not who we felt we ought to have been.
As a therapist we work to explore your experience of reality and the beliefs you hold about yourself, others and the world. Beliefs may be just that, beliefs and not truths.

As a coach we work toward making explicit the real motivation driving you to achieve your goal and identify the beliefs that support or sabotage you.

As I work with groups or companies, we explore the dimensions of the world in which the group exists and  how internal relationships support or sabotage the aspirations of the group.

I present at CPD events for professional associations and conferences and offers short courses and workshops.
